Punch pizza was founded in 2008 by John and Maria Soranno, who fell in love with Neapolitan pizza during a trip through southern Italy. Inspired by centuries-old traditions, they brought that passion home to Minneapolis — opening a small, intimate pizzeria on East Hennepin Avenue.
From day one, our philosophy has been simple: use the finest ingredients, honor the craft, and serve each guest with genuine warmth. We source our San Marzano tomatoes directly from the volcanic slopes of Mount Vesuvius, our fresh mozzarella arrives daily, and our dough is hand-stretched using a recipe perfected over decades.
Today, Punch pizza is recognized as one of the Twin Cities' most beloved dining destinations — but our heart remains the same as it did on opening day: a deep reverence for great pizza and great hospitality.
